Years ago, I traveled across the Golden Gate Bridge out of San Francisco. The speed limit on the 1.7 mile structure was 45 miles per hour and vehicles were driving even faster on that May afternoon as the weather was ideal, with no wind or rain. Nothing but sunshine.
But, what if the Golden Gate Bridge or any big bridge had no sides? How fast would you drive if there were no guardrails? Chances are you would proceed slowly with caution, at a much slower pace, and as close to the center of the bridge as possible. Yes, even on a good day!!!
